Bridesmaid and Maid of Honor Clothing and Attire Essentials
Here is a list of items to consider packing for the big day (or the wedding weekend).
Rehearsal Dinner and Night Before Wedding
Typically wedding parties get dressed up for the rehearsal dinner but sometimes couples choose to have a more relaxed wedding welcome party.
Check with the bride-to-be to see if there is a dress code or if you should bring anything specific.
Here are the basic things that you should consider packing:
- Rehearsal dinner outfit
- Shoes for rehearsal dinner
- Accessories and undergarments for your rehearsal dinner outfit
- Pajamas for the night before the wedding
- A jacket or coat (if needed)
Day of The Wedding
The wedding day is obviously the one you want to make a detailed packing list for (make sure to check it twice!).
Here are some of the important items you will want to pack and bring with you:
- A getting-ready outfit for the wedding day morning – robe, button-down shirt, pajamas, or just some comfy clothes (These always look so cute in the getting ready photos)
- Socks, slippers, or flip-flops to wear while getting ready
- Your bridesmaid dress (This one is kinda important)
- Wedding day shoes
- Comfortable shoes or flats for the dance floor (Or just go barefoot!)
- Undergarments for the wedding day (bra, underwear, pantyhose, tights, etc.)
- A change of clothes if going out to a last minute after party (or wear your bridesmaid dress)
- Pajamas for the night of the wedding
- A light jacket or coat (if needed)
Day After The Wedding
Here are a few things you will want to pack for the day after the wedding:
- Outfit for the day after the wedding (one for each additional day)
- Extra bra/underwear
- A light jacket or coat (if needed)
Jewelry and Other Accessories
Here are a few accessories that you will want to bring with you to the wedding:
- Wedding day jewelry (earrings, necklace, bracelet, etc)
- A clutch (You want your clutch or small purse to be on the small side but big enough to carry your phone, ID, cash, credit card, lipstick, and maybe the bride’s phone.)
- Heel protectors (A must-have item for outdoor ceremonies in the grass)
- Sunglasses

Hair, Makeup, and Beauty Must-Haves for Bridal Party
Here are some hair care and makeup items to consider packing for the weekend:
- Hairbrush
- Hairspray
- Bobby pins
- Hair ties
- Curling iron
- Flat iron
- Makeup setting spray
- Makeup remover wipes
- Sample photos for the makeup artist and hair stylist (Save a few of these to your phone)
- Your own makeup (Even if you are having your makeup done by a professional MUA, it’s a good idea to have a few of your own items just in case you need to touch something up later in the day.)
Toiletries and Other Necessities
Here is a list of those must-have items for your wedding weekend:
- Toothbrush and toothpaste
- Mouthwash
- Floss
- Deodorant
- Shampoo and conditioner
- Dry shampoo
- Clear nail polish
- Nail file
- Hand wipes
- Lotion
- Perfume
- Razor and shaving gel
- Small sewing kit (This is one of those items that will get used at almost every single wedding)
- Pain killers (Tylenol/Ibuprofen)
- Medications
- Eye drops
- Safety pins (This is another item that I am asked for at almost every sings wedding I work at)
- Stain remover wipes
- Contact solution
- Bandaids
- Tampons/pads (Even if you don’t think you will need the, it’s better to be safe than sorry)
- A small pack of tissues
- Double stick tape
- Tweezers
- Tote bag
- Garment bag
- Gum/mints
- Snacks (Once the day starts moving, you will not have a lot of time to eat before dinner. Bring snacks to keep you energized all day)
- Bug spray or bug wipes (A must-have for hot outdoor summer weddings)
- Wet wipes

Important Details and Little Extra Items
Here is a list of some really important items to bring to the wedding and some of the little extra things that would be nice to have:
- A timeline for the entire weekend
- Cash (Find out ahead of time if the hair and makeup team takes cash or Venmo)
- Credit card/debit card
- Your wedding gift and a wedding card for the couple
- A pair of scissors (I have never been to a bridal suite where someone didn’t ask me if I had scissors)
- Cell phone charger
- Blue tooth speaker (Having a fun music playlist for the wedding morning is essential to kicking things off the right way!)
- Portable charger for Bluetooth music speaker
- Extension cord
- Small portable fan (Getting ready for a wedding in a small space with a lot of girls can be brutal in the hot summer months)
- Water bottle (Make sure to drink water the day before the wedding and throughout the wedding day. Check in on the bride too to make sure she is drinking plenty of water)
- A steamer for the wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses (These are always needed on the wedding day morning)
- Lint roller
- Dress hanger
- Umbrella (You can pick up a small travel umbrella on Amazon or Target)
- Contact info for the rest of the wedding party
- Contact info for important wedding vendors (wedding planner, photographer, DJ, etc)
- Addresses stored in your phone for the wedding venue, reception venue, rehearsal dinner location, etc. (because you never know)
- Put your hotel room number in a note inside your phone (and the parking lot location if it’s a big garage)
- A copy of your speech (Maid of Honor)
