Bridesmaid and Maid of Honor Clothing and Attire Essentials

Here is a list of items to consider packing for the big day (or the wedding weekend).

Rehearsal Dinner and Night Before Wedding

Typically wedding parties get dressed up for the rehearsal dinner but sometimes couples choose to have a more relaxed wedding welcome party.

Check with the bride-to-be to see if there is a dress code or if you should bring anything specific.

Here are the basic things that you should consider packing:

  • Rehearsal dinner outfit
  • Shoes for rehearsal dinner
  • Accessories and undergarments for your rehearsal dinner outfit
  • Pajamas for the night before the wedding
  • A jacket or coat (if needed)

Day of The Wedding

The wedding day is obviously the one you want to make a detailed packing list for (make sure to check it twice!).

Here are some of the important items you will want to pack and bring with you:

  • A getting-ready outfit for the wedding day morning – robe, button-down shirt, pajamas, or just some comfy clothes (These always look so cute in the getting ready photos)
  • Socks, slippers, or flip-flops to wear while getting ready
  • Your bridesmaid dress (This one is kinda important)
  • Wedding day shoes
  • Comfortable shoes or flats for the dance floor (Or just go barefoot!)
  • Undergarments for the wedding day (bra, underwear, pantyhose, tights, etc.)
  • A change of clothes if going out to a last minute after party (or wear your bridesmaid dress)
  • Pajamas for the night of the wedding
  • A light jacket or coat (if needed)

Day After The Wedding

Here are a few things you will want to pack for the day after the wedding:

  • Outfit for the day after the wedding (one for each additional day)
  • Extra bra/underwear
  • A light jacket or coat (if needed)

Jewelry and Other Accessories

Here are a few accessories that you will want to bring with you to the wedding:

  • Wedding day jewelry (earrings, necklace, bracelet, etc)
  • A clutch (You want your clutch or small purse to be on the small side but big enough to carry your phone, ID, cash, credit card, lipstick, and maybe the bride’s phone.)
  • Heel protectors (A must-have item for outdoor ceremonies in the grass)
  • Sunglasses
