Best Pre-Wedding Songs For Getting Ready With The Girls in 2022
I totally understand that my “best song list” might be different than your “best song list”, but I have been in many getting-ready rooms with the bride and bridesmaids (over 500 at the time of this writing), and I have seen what works really well, and what doesn’t work so well.
Let’s start with what doesn’t work well.
Having no music in the getting-ready room is a big no-no. A silent room with people doing hair and make-up really brings the energy level down. When the energy level is down, it really shows in your wedding photos.
By making a really fun music playlist for the getting-ready part of the morning, you are setting yourself up for lots of smiles and awesome photos. Trust me on this one!
Now let’s talk about what does work well.
A playlist filled with fun and upbeat music works best for your getting-ready wedding morning playlist. Make sure you include lots of your favorite songs and favorite songs of the other girls who will be getting ready with you.
Here are our favorite songs to add to the getting ready playlist to play on your wedding morning while getting hair and makeup done with your Maid of Honor and bridesmaids.

One important music playlist tip:
Know your audience.
If your mom or soon-to-be mother-in-law (or grandmas, aunts, kids, etc.) are going to be getting ready with you, try to avoid songs with swearing. It is so easy to get the radio-friendly version of any song (especially if using something like Apple Music or a Spotify playlist).
We have been in many getting-ready rooms where they were blasting music with lots of swearing, and it really upset some of the older people in the room.
But again, know your audience. If your mom and aunt are down with Blink 182 or Jay-Z and don’t mind the swearing, load up your playlist with the original versions.
