Riverdale Manor is a beautiful wedding venue located along the Conestoga River in Lancaster, PA

We talked with a few couples about their experience with Riverdale Manor. Here is what they had to say…

“Our guests absolutely loved our food (us too – of course 🙂 They mentioned that it was the best wedding dinner that they have ever had.

The planning (before, during, and after) of the wedding venue was seamless.

The service of the Thyme & Seasons crew was above and beyond.

You could tell that they truly wanted our day to be perfect.

Beautiful venue, great food, and amazing scenery!”

-Steph

Here is another…

“One thing that I loved about Riverdale Manor is that it was optimal for either a warm weather wedding or a cold weather wedding. We knew we would be happy no matter what the weather did on our wedding day.

Riverdale’s food is phenomenal and incredibly unique.

I never dreamed I could have tacos at my wedding (my favorite food), but they made it happen and it was a hit with the guests.”

And another…

“The first thing I loved about Riverdale Manor was Monica, our wedding planner.

She was quick to respond to any questions and made our day perfect!

I also loved how much space there was, and the flexibility with making the ceremony space turn into the dance floor during cocktail hour.

The staff at Riverdale Manor are all so sweet and made sure that my husband and I had everything we needed!”

Excelsior

Excelsior is a stunning wedding venue located in Lancaster, PA.

We talked with a few couples who were recently married at Excelsior, and here is what they had to say…

“Our number one favorite thing about the venue was how unique it was!

We had never seen a venue quite like it and there was a surprise hidden around every corner.

Filled with history and cool stories from the owners who you could tell from the start were passionate about the space and making it extra special and inclusive for their couples.

The live green wall is what sold me.

I am a sucker for greenery and you could tell how important and well maintained the landscape was, which just perfectly softened the brick/industrial features of the building.

It’s really hard for me to stop there! I can even rave about how beautiful the bathrooms were and how large and well designed the bridal suite is. Ugh, such a dream venue and my husband and I still to this day are obsessed with our wedding day!!”

Here is another…

“I loved that the space is so raw and unique!

It is both a blank canvas as well as a space with tons of character!

The space changes so much with a little extra decor but also, speaks for itself with all of its original textures and character.

I love all of the natural light as well as the endless rooms that excelsior has to offer to make each wedding day unique to the couple!”

And another…

“We absolutely LOVED the living wall.

When I saw that during our walk through, I knew that had to be our ceremony backdrop.

What also sealed the deal for us was that we could use the entire property.

We had our ceremony on the terrace, our cocktail hour in the catacombs, our dinner all the way up stairs and then the dancing/party downstairs.

It was perfect! So perfect”

Guest count: Excelsior can accomodate up to 250 wedding guests.

Rain plan: Excelsior offers both indoor and outdoor wedding ceremony locations.

  • The Bandstand (a gorgeous area for photos with early 1900 stone columns)
  • The greenhouse
  • The cottage and den
  • The rose garden

Head on over to their site for a virtual tour of the property.

We asked a few couples what they loved about Historic Shady Lane and here is what they had to say:

“We really loved the attention the staff was able to give us the day of our wedding.

Having the entire property to ourselves was a huge plus for us.

We had a phone number that was activated on our wedding day that allowed us to call the staff for anything we needed. They would take us on golf carts wherever we needed to go at any point.

I also really loved the ability to customize our wedding to fit our specific wants.

A big selling point for me was the ability to have a food cart.

I loved that Historic Shady Lane gave us the bare necessities (bar, chairs, tables, etc) but we were able to rent/buy other materials to customize the space to reflect our personalities.”

Here is another…

“Historic Shady Lane was amazing!

One of the many things I loved was the staff. Bradania and the rest of her staff were so helpful with the whole planning process. They were flexible with our requests and made our wedding vision come true!

Another thing I loved about HSL was all the options and space the venue provided.

You weren’t locked into a specific ceremony site or cocktail hour site.

The bridal suite and the grooms den were also very convenient and accommodating for everyone to get ready together.

The grounds were so gorgeous and spaced out.

It is such a wonderful venue I would recommend it to anyone.”

Drumore Estate

We asked a few couples what they loved about Drumore Estate. Here is what they had to say…

“Aside from the absolutely gorgeous landscape, the staff was incredibly accommodating.

Karen was wonderful – it actually became very windy the morning of my wedding day and she took me out to the gardens where our ceremony was set to take place and helped me decide whether to move that part of our event indoors.

They would’ve moved everything for me and made it as beautiful inside the carriage house as it was in the gardens.

We ended up keeping the ceremony in the garden, but the owner was so doting… I never experienced the jitters I’ve heard brides getting due to unexpected issues popping up.

The grooms suite and bridal suite were just something out of a dream.

The chef prepared sandwiches for the men and a little brunch for the ladies and even provided mixers for mimosas.

The day had some hiccups (my grandma got a flat tire on the way, and Karen helped delay the ceremony by sending our guests to the bar in the carriage house), but not once did I have any anxiety or stress about how smoothly the day would go.

The beauty of the venue, staff attentiveness, and the chef at Drumore made our day a dream from entrance to sparkler exit!”

Here is another…

“We loved the landscaping!

Every inch of the estate is “photo ready” which was important for me. It was so well kept and had beautiful blooms for every season!

The staff at Drumore Estate were so accommodating.

We had an unconventional wedding (A Sunday brunch).

I wanted everything outside to enjoy the June weather!

We did an outdoor reception on their patio, which they hadn’t done before, and it turned out wonderfully.

They made my dreams come true and allowed me to be creative!”

And another…

“We absolutely loved Drumore Estate and couldn’t have picked a better venue!

The first thing that made us fall in love with the Drumore was the beauty all around the estate and how the multiple options for ceremony spots and reception areas that are offered all have their own beauty!

Every inch of the property is beautiful and “show ready”.

We were hoping to have our ceremony outside in the rose garden, but knew if it was a rainy day or too cold, our “back up plan” would be just as beautiful as our original location.

The property offers so many options! There’s really something for every couples dream day!

Another thing that we were really drawn to was the wedding coordinators and owners, Karen & Bill.

We loved the warmth and welcome-ness Karen greeted us with. They made us feel so welcomed.”
